Out-of-form Ballynahinch United went on the road to Clarendon Playing Fields, to face promotion-pushing Woodvale.
They found themselves behind early on but talisman Aaron Cheevers pulled one back just moments later with a delightful chip.
Woodvale took the lead again before twenty minutes had past in an action packed first half.
Lee Maxwell was introduced at half-time and equalised for United on the hour mark after a delicate first touch and excellent finish from the just inside the box, dedicated to his son, born on Monday.
Despite an onslaught of attacks from the home side and an extended period of added time, United defended well with Jamie McNeill performing well and held on to claim a valuable point under tough circumstances.

Ballynahinch Swifts 3 – 1 Ballynagross II
The Swifts took to The Millbridge for their first home league game of their campaign and it proved fruitful.
Manager Gareth Bingham chose to drop himself but was able to welcome back Patrick Harkin from injury for his first appearance of the season and what a performance it was.
Patrick bagged two in the first half hour to give The Swifts a commanding lead before Ballynagross pulled one back just after half time.
Meanwhile centre midfield, Andrew Shannon controlled the game pulling the strings, perhaps energised without the burden of doing Gareth’s running…
Patrick secured the points for the hosts and his hat-trick with 10 to go with a well taken penalty.
