Ballynahinch had the majority of possession in a first half that lacked an attacking threat. Only the wind and rain that seems to be scheduled for 2pm every Saturday caused the players any problems.
However, Stuart McMullan endeavoured to inject some intensity in midfield pressing high before being fouled while on the break on multiple occasions. But the lacklustre half finished goalless.
Both teams played a little bit more direct in the second half, which lead to a great opportunity for Dundonald after the wind carried a long ball beyond Ballynahinch’s defence, but the attacker missed his opportunity much to United’s relief.
It was the away team who eventually took the lead when Chris Coleman headed home from a set-piece from Stuart for his first goal for the club after signing in August.
United created more opportunities but were unable to increase their lead, instead they worked hard and defended strongly with Chris winning everything at the back while Stefan Graham made an important save to ensure Ballynahinch picked up the three points and a clean sheet to boot.
