Bangor Swifts were the visitors to The Millbridge at the weekend.
It was the away side who started better in the early stages with United unable to keep possession.
However, Ballynahinch took the lead against the run of play when Greg Hall and Gregg Allison combined to find Naseem Ouldhamlat with space on the right. His cross was emphatically volleyed into the roof of the net by Gavin Crawford.
United improved after going ahead but were far from fluid in possession which encouraged Bangor to attack. But Ballynahinch remained ahead at the break.
In the second half, United looked better in control of the ball and it wasn’t long before they made it count. The tireless Gavin popped up once again, this time to thread a killer ball through to Robbie Lurring. His right foot finish found its way between the Bangor ‘keepers legs to double the lead.
United controlled the game from there on out leaving the defence and Stefan Graham with little to do, while Stuart McMullan cut out any threats from midfield.
Gregg Allison came close to adding another but couldn’t keep the ball down from Robbie’s low cross.
Graeme McMullan, Patrick Harkin and Luke Craig made appearances off the bench to see out the game.
A great win for Ballynahinch including a clean sheet and a milestone for Sam Lurring who made his 50th first-team appearance for the club.
