Ballynahinch United is delighted to announce the signing of Greg Hall.
Hall, 33, returns to The Millbridge following spells at Lisburn Distillery, Loughgall, Portadown and two stints at Ards FC.
‘Mr Reliable’ initially left Ballynahinch United and joined Lisburn Distillery in 2009 and then Loughall in 2011.
He played just one season at Lakeview Park before leaving for Ards FC in 2012, where he would win two NIFL Championship titles in 2013 and 2016. Greg was named runner-up in the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association’s Championship Player of the Year award in 2016.
In January 2018, Hall moved to Shamrock Park to join Portadown making 135 appearances, scoring 2 goals and winning the NIFL Championship title in 2019/20, picking up a host of personal accolades, including two Player’s Player of the Year awards in 2018 and 2022.
He returned to Ards for the 2022/2023 season making 33 appearances. Across his two spells at the Red and Blue men, he made a total of 207 appearances, scoring 8 goals, collecting a Player’s Player of the Year award and another batch of individual awards.
On completing the signing of the experienced defender United Head Coach Gareth King said:
“We’re excited that Greg has joined the club. I know he turned down some other options, so it’s great he’s chosen to come down. His experience at the higher levels will be an important asset for us. The intensity and quality during training has increased since he’s been back. He’s a brilliant player and his fitness is incredible. There’s a real buzz about the club with Greg joining. We know we can rely on him to help the younger lads and drive us on.“
You can watch Hall in action at The Millbridge this weekend when Ballynahinch United host Portaferry Rovers in the Steel and Sons Cup.
