Saturday 22 January
United took a trip to face undefeated Mossley. Kick off was delayed whilst the home team attempted to get the pitch rolled minutes before the schedule start of the game.
Despite the whistle signalling the start of the game, United found themselves behind mere seconds later.
Undeterred, United fought back and had chances to equalise when an excellent ball from Taylor Graham narrowly escaped the head of Ross Murray but Jordan Patterson soon found the equaliser. His exquisite free kick curled expertly around the wall and found the net to even the scoreline.
Mossley found themselves frustrated and lashed out a number of times which went unseen and unpunished before being awarded a penalty right on half-time to make it 2 – 1.
United were on the ascendancy in the second half with Stuart McMullan coming close with a long range effort. Soon, a long throw from Matthew Hall bounced it’s way through to the back post where Ross Murray scrambled it home.
United looked dangerous, breaking the lines and causing troubling from set pieces but it was Mossley who bagged the next goal with a freak goal. A fortunate deflection from their right looped wildly over goalkeeper Stefan Graham who could do nothing about it.

Ballynahinch United Swifts
The Swift’s entertained Saintfield United IIIs at an alternative location after switching from The Millbridge to Assumption Grammar.
The Swifts struggled to find any rhythm and fell behind early on. And then conceded again before the break.
After half-time, The Swift’s continued to battle to reduce the deficit and soon did when Jamie McNeill picked out Jack Forbes. His clever flick was slotted home by Jack Patterson, who made his first appearance after returning to the club.
Ballynahinch couldn’t find an equaliser unfortunately, and in the dying seconds the referee awarded Saintfield a penalty after judging a shoulder barge to have been misplaced. The penalty was converted to confirm The Saint’s victory.
