Saturday 4 December
After 3 wins on the bounce, United hosted unbeaten Mossley FC at The Millbridge.
The home team, unfortunately, found themselves 2 down after 25 minutes when Mossley proved their worth.
United, in yellow, soon equalised to give themselves hope when Matthew Shaw and Alex Burtney linked up. The latter cut in a finished well to cut the deficit.
It was short-lived however when Mossley scored moments later to make it 3-1 going into the break.
After half-time, United played better but were still caught out and fell further behind to the promotion hopefuls.
The Yellow shirts battled on and pulled one back when the oppositions keeper was in no man’s land and Scott Brashaw rolled a right footed effort in from outside the box.
Despite hard work and determination for the rest of the match, United couldn’t turn it into goals despite some chances, losing to the league’s high-fliers.
