False start
Tuesday 17 August
United returned to where they last played a league fixture on 7 March 2020 and started a goal behind after a touch and go offside decision in the early minutes went against them and allowed the home team to take the lead.
Twenty minutes later they doubled the deficit when a chipped cross was headed home off the post.
Another offside decision went Dunmurry’s way when their forward broke free and was awarded a penalty despite starting as the only player – bar the goalkeeper – in our half. Stefan came to the rescue and made a fine save to prevent the spot kick.
However, after the break, the goals rained in in a disastrous 15 minutes where United conceded 4 without reply.
Dunmurry were awarded another penalty after a clash of heads in the box. Stefan Graham made another great save to prevent another spot kick. His third penalty stop in a row.
United pulled one back, when Aaron Cheevers’ driven cross was toed towards goal by Jack Forbes. His effort was stopped by the keeper but Taylor Graham was on hand to put it into the net. It was far too little, far too late however.
Dunmurry added another to finish a game that Ballynahinch will want to forget.
